Around 11:39 a.m. on Sunday, a fire broke out on the Cheongil fishing boat, a 72-ton-class fishing boat in Gangwon Province with seven sailors aboard.
On the morning of the day, Patrol vessel 1005 heard a distress communication network that said a fire broke out in a fishing boat 40 nautical miles southwest of Tongyeong, and dispatched three patrol boats, five aircraft and a rescue team to the scene. The fire completely destroyed the vessel, but all seven crew members were rescued by a patrol ship.
