Korea Coast Guard announced that it has decided to make next year's budget 1.3732 trillion won, up 134.5 billion won (8.2 percent) from 1.26 trillion won (1.2 billion dollars) this year.

The Korea Coast Guard plans to spend 133.5 billion won and 81.9 billion won to expand the rescue and safety infrastructure in the next year's budget. Twenty-five KCG stations in South Korea will be converted into rescue hubs. Twelve new offshore rescue boats and eight drones will be deployed at these rescue locators.

The Korea Coast Guard is also planning to install a special mooring facility at 39 locations nationwide to improve the delay in the absence of a mooring facility dedicated to rescue boats.

Along with this, the budget for installing two mid-orbit satellite distress receivers, six high-speed patrol boats to crack down on illegal fishing, two 100-ton patrol boats, 300 million won for design, and 200 million won for covering.

In addition, three VTS radars will be installed in areas where there is a high risk of accidents such as Yeongheung and Pohang, which occurred in December last year.
