In Korea, the vaccination of AstraZeneca vaccine for social essential workers began on April 26th.
The Korea Coast Guard (KCG) said that all officers will be able to receive one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for two weeks.
The KCG is planning to maintain an emergency duty system and thoroughly monitor health problems to ensure that the performance of maritime missions is not disrupted.
"All KCG officers working at the frontline to serve the public must be safe from the risk of getting the virus complete the mission of protecting people's lives and property," said Yeo Seong-soo, Director of General Affaris Division. "We hope to see our officers actively participating in the vaccination."
Meanwhile, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) initally planned to vaccinate social essential personnel incuding police and firefighters in May and June, but decided to implemented it ahead of schedule.
