A fishing boat captain who fled without responding to a request for inspection was arrested for the first time. The Pohang KCG Station said on Sunday that it arrested a captain of a fishing boat, A (56), on charges of fleeing illegal fishing by dumping illegal fishing goods into the sea.
On January 6, at 4:30 p.m., he suddenly changed course and ran away as soon as he saw a maritime patrol ship while fishing 20 kilometers east of Wolpo Port in Pohang City. A patrol boat, which was suspicious of this, ordered the fishing boat to stop for inspection, but after a 30-minute zigzag ride, he threw all the sacks of the catch into the sea and stopped.
