The captain of a Russian Cargo Vessel who crashed into the Gwangan Bridge in Busan was arrested. The Busan Kora Coast Guard Station said on Monday that it arrested the ship's captain, ‘A’, on charges of sabotage, disqualification and violation of maritime safety laws.
The Busan KCG and the Busan District Prosecutors' Office applied for an arrest warrant for Captain 'A' on the 2nd, and the court issued a warrant on the 3rd afternoon after the court's review of the warrant.
"Arrest warrant has been issued because of the possible escape of the suspect," Busan Coast Guard official said. "We will focus our investigation on the captain's drinking and operating activities."
