- The Korea Coast Guard is organized under the Commissioner General and the Deputy Commissioner General, consisting of 1 office, 7 Bureaus, and 30 Divisions. The Spokesperson’s Division is directly attached to the Commissioner General. Affiliated organizations include the Korea Coast Guard Academy, the Special Rescue Unit, and the Shipyard. The Planning and Coordination Office, the Command Center, and the Audit and Inspection Division are directly attached to the Vice Commissioner General. The Korea Coast Guard operates regionally divided into 5 Regional Headquarters and 21 Coast Guard Stations under their Jurisdiction. In addition , the Korea Coast Guard operates 19 Vessel Traffic Service(VTS) Centers nationwide.

- The Korea Coast Guard carried out its missions through the following key functions: Safeguarding maritime sovereignty, Preventing and Investigating maritime crimes , Conducting maritime search and rescue (SAR) and ensuring maritime safety, Establishing and maintaining vessel traffic order, and Preventing and responding to marine pollution.
