7.9-ton shrimp fishing boat capsized in waters near Eocheng Island in Gunsan on Tuesday. The Coast Guard arrived at the scene at 7:51 p.m., 30 minutes after receiving the report, and nine patrol boats, helicopters and 24 rescue workers were dispatched.
The coast guard went up to the upside down fishing boat to find out if the survivors were alive. The rescued crew members were taken to a land hospital. Gunsan Coast Guard is investigating the cause of the accident.
