The Korea Coast Guard is making all-out efforts to safeguard maritime terrorism in order to successfully host the "2019 Korea-ASEAN Special Summit" and the "First Korea-Mekong Summit" to be held in Busan from Saturday to Sunday. The "2019 Korea-ASEAN Special Summit" is a national event that celebrates the 30th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between Korea and ASEAN countries and lays the foundation for the takeoff of the New Southern Policy, which the government is focusing on. The Korea Coast Guard has been strengthening its vigilance over all of the nation's waters and operating its maritime operations headquarters around the clock since 15th of Nov. During the summit, the Korea Coast Guard will deploy 551 officers, 29 Large patrol ships, two helicopters to ensure the safety of each nation's leaders. Especially, the Coast Guard Special Force unit will use drone radio wave blockers to prevent terrorist attacks on by using explosives-equipped drones, which have emerged as a social problem during the fourth industrial revolution, and carry out surveillance activities.
